a letter to Laura Cline

Dear Laura,
I hope this letter finds you well and rested after a nice spring break!! To answer a few of your questions about our class, I will start off with what I feel my biggest challenge in this class to date has been so far. this semester for me is all basically on-line (with the exception of a once a week scheduled A&P 2 lab) and as a whole, to be honest I am finding that being diligent in my studies is the biggest challenge. Without “scheduled” classes per say, it seems that sometimes “life” takes the forefront over my school work. I find myself procrastinating a lot more than I would have thought or would like to. This leads into my goals of the second half of the session. I would like to see myself set aside definite times during the day when I do have the free time (when I normally, in other semesters would have been attending classes), to work on my assignments and not wait until the last possible moment to cram it all in.
As far as the work in our class, my biggest success was to set up my blog and post my introductory video. I was very intimidated by it all and a bit overwhelmed.  Now realizing how easy it was, I feel a bit silly saying that. But going into the class, I really had no idea that it would entail blog posts and such. I did have one other on-line course prior to this semester (English 101), and there was a discussion board but not nearly as much “interaction” as this class has. Also comparing it to my prior English course, I do have to say that I enjoy the readings so much more. They have all been very thought provoking and have an emotional quality about them that makes it fairly easy to connect to. I read “The Handmaid’s Tale” before class had even begun and got excited for this course. In the only other college English course I had taken, it focused all on pop culture and subjects to me that seemed so superficial. So it was a nice change to read required texts that I actually enjoyed, that actually have substance.
Have a great day,
Stefanie
